Inteplast Group Acquires CoolSeal USA

LIVINGSTON, NJ – December 6, 2024 – Inteplast Group has acquired CoolSeal USA, LLC. The plastic corrugated manufacturer and fabricator is based in Perrysburg, OH. CoolSeal USA will operate under Inteplast Group’s World-Pak Division.

Andy Chen, general manager of World-Pak, said that CoolSeal USA’s leadership in the corrugated boards market complements Inteplast Group’s produce, warehousing, and other products used for packaging and storage.

“We are enthusiastic about welcoming CoolSeal USA into the Inteplast Group fold. Its commitment to developing sustainable and recyclable products aligns with our stance on supporting supply chains that eliminate or otherwise encourage reusability and less waste,” Chen said. “With CoolSeal on our team, World-Pak, and Inteplast Group, by extension will expand our collective contributions to a circular economy beyond the industries, customers, and communities we serve.”

CoolSeal USA President Taber ‘Tab’ Hinkle, who also serves as general manager at the northwest Ohio plant, is eager to move forward under the Inteplast umbrella.

“As one of the foremost leaders in corrugated and sustainable packaging with more than 100 years of experience, CoolSeal USA is proud to join Inteplast Group. Inteplast has made significant strides in packaging and will allow us to offer our customers more resources and options without sacrificing quality. We are a technologically driven company with an eye toward best practices in eco-friendly and recyclable storage products. Inteplast Group supports our vision for a future where each step in the supply chain contributes to less environmental waste and more value for our customers,” Hinkle said.

CoolSeal USA was originally CoolSeal when it was founded in Grimsby, a coastal town in England. However, as CoolSeal USA it has operated in the United States since 2013, producing polypropylene sheets for the seafood packaging industry as well as corrugated sheets for customers in automotive, warehousing, construction and horticultural markets.

Inteplast Group’s President Dr. John Young considers the CoolSeal USA acquisition an extension of the manufacturing excellence that Inteplast Group has paired with its lean approach to sustainable product development.

“The CoolSeal USA brand is associated with technology, customization, and ecological advancement in packaging.  For more than 30 years, Inteplast Group has integrated this trifecta into our manufacturing practices as we’ve served communities throughout North America. We are excited to work with Tab and our new colleagues at CoolSeal. I take this opportunity to also thank and congratulate our corrugated boards team for the unwavering leadership role it has played in our industry over the past three decades, by always placing customers first while innovating new designs and structural improvements all the time,” Dr. Young stated.

For its fourth consecutive year, Inteplast Group has been ranked the number one film and sheet manufacturer in 2024 by Plastics News.
