LIVINGSTON, NJ – September 15, 2025 – Reef Industries Inc. has joined Inteplast Group as its newest film manufacturer. The company, founded in 1957, serves the architectural, municipal, aerospace, construction, nuclear, and agricultural industries. Reef Industries has two locations in Houston and one in San Benito, TX.
Reef Industries produces an array of familiar products including barricade tape, concrete curing covers, agriculture covers, tarps, liners, vapor retarders, packaging, and more. They are sold under the well-known trademarks Armorlon®, Permalon®, Griffolyn®, Banner Guard®, and Terra Tape®.
Inteplast Group President Dr. John Young said that Reef Industries’ mastery of film customization intersects with Inteplast’s product portfolio and related applications.
“I’ve followed the trajectory of Reef since the mid-1990s, when I was fortunate enough to meet Troy Taylor, then its newly appointed president. I’m deeply impressed with what it has achieved over the years with heavy gauge, strong, reinforced films as well as with its well-earned reputation as a customer-friendly supplier that is eager to accommodate customers’ needs in search of an ideal, engineered solution,” said Dr. Young.
Reef Industries is the latest addition to Inteplast’s Performance Films and Solutions business unit, which is led by President John Stevens.
Stevens explained that he expects the addition of Reef Industries to the Inteplast family of companies to accentuate the company’s focus on dynamic film development.
“The acquisition of Reef Industries reflects Inteplast Group’s long-term strategic vision to expand our film portfolio with complementary capabilities that strengthen our position as a solutions-driven leader. By aligning our resources, expertise, and market presence, we are creating unique synergies that enable us to deliver superior service and value to our customers,” said Stevens.
He also noted that Inteplast’s XF Films, in Lolita, TX, and MTI Polyexe in Brentwood, NH, Reef Industries’ sister companies, are both producers of proprietary, engineered, extra-strong, and coated film products for the overlapping construction, industrial, and agriculture industries.
Troy Taylor, president of Reef Industries, said that the acquisition will be a catalyst for the company’s continuing evolution. “At this time in Reef Industries’ history, Inteplast Group is the ideal partner. Change is a necessary part of life, and I believe that this will be very positive for both Inteplast Group and Reef Industries. Not only does joining Inteplast bring great value to our company and dedicated staff, our customers, new and old, will benefit, too,” said Taylor.
