MTI Polyexe Donates $1K to United Recovery Fund

Brentwood, NH – December 16, 2024 – MTI Polyexe of Brentwood donated $1,000 to the United Recovery Fund, which provides supportive services for reentry into the workplace for people affected by substance use disorder and incarceration. The official presentation of the donation was on Wednesday, December 11 at MTI Polyexe’s plant and is part of the Inteplast Cares philanthropic program in which plant leadership builds meaningful, enriching bridges with the facility’s surrounding community.

The clients of United Fund Recovery most commonly find support from MaineWorks, a socially driven staffing company based in Portland, ME, and also the Fund’s partner organization. MaineWorks provides the jobs; the United Recovery Fund provides additional financial support.

Mike Sullivan, general manager of MTI Polyexe, said that the services for individuals seeing reentry into various industries are essential.

“MTI Polyexe was one of the first manufacturing businesses in New Hampshire to be certified as a Recovery Friendly Workplace. We believe very strongly that people deserve a second chance. Partnering with MaineWorks, and by extension, the United Recovery Fund has been both enjoyable and profitable.  The temporary staff that MaineWorks provides arrive full of gratitude and with a desire to turn their lives around and be productive members of society,” said Sullivan.

Along with Sullivan, several community members presented the donation, including Margo Walsh (MaineWorks), Karen Stanley (United Recovery Fund), plus Josh Peabody, Scott Therrien, and Joe St. Germain, all three of whom joined MTI as temporary staff from MaineWorks before becoming permanent employees.
