LEWISTOWN, PA – September 15, 2026 – Trinity Plastics in Lewistown, PA, held its first Health & Wellness Fair on September 10, which also recognized World Suicide Prevention Day. More than 200 attendees were at the public event where funds were also raised for the Jana Marie Foundation, a local nonprofit organization with resources for mental health and adolescent suicide prevention.
Human Resources Manager Kathy Hatch said the manufacturer wanted to remind its community of available assistance to those suffering in isolation with mental health or suicidal thoughts. Hatch confirmed that Trinity’s donations to the Jana Marie Foundation will total just over $1,800, some of which was raised during the fair and the remainder through Inteplast Cares, a philanthropic program from parent company, Inteplast Group.
“There are people who care, and asking for help is a sign of strength. We wanted to connect our employees and members of the community with services that provide education, support, and assistance to those who may need it,” said Hatch. “As a local manufacturer, we recognize that our staff and their family and friends fortify our success and this is one way of reciprocating valuable information for overall wellness.”
Plant Manager Matt Cram said that mental and physical health are especially important for manufacturing professionals in any industry. There are 386 staff members at Trinity Plastics.
“Our staff’s health benefits include access to resources that include therapy, nutritional guidance, and other areas. Some departments require very specific attention to safety and detail. We also need to ensure that product quality isn’t compromised and that our customer service is above average. Any professional may have other challenges – mentally or physically – that conflict with their bests intentions at work and need to know where and how to find support,” said Cram.
Attending organizations included Seven Mountains Media, Mount Nittany Health, Geisinger Health, Kickin’ Kater, Sinister Donuts, Juniata Valley Tri-County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission, Chamber of Commerce, PSECU, NuVisions, the YMCA, and Turnpaugh Health and Wellness Center.
“No one has to face difficult times alone,” Hatch shared. “Mental health and suicide prevention are issues that can affect anyone, our co-workers, their families, our friends, and neighbors. Awareness requires a community effort. What began as an opportunity to focus on employee health and wellness has become an opportunity for Trinity Plastics to reach beyond our walls, bring people together, provide meaningful resources, and support an important cause.”
